About Me
My name is Jack and I am a rising senior at Pingree High School in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. As an upperclassman this year, I hope to cascade energy and enthusiasm down through the lower grades by raising school spirit at sporting events and jamming on stage with my friends. I want our senior class to preserve and strengthen the supportive Pingree atmosphere that I have grown to love over the past 4 years and provide the freedom for every student to feel comfortable being
their true selves. In life in general, I prioritize surrounding myself with supportive people who love me for who I am, and I always extend that love and support to others. I dedicate my compassionate, respectful, and open-minded personality to my family, especially my three older siblings, who have always shown me unconditional love and taught me countless life lessons. If you couldn't tell by now, family is at the core of who I am. I grew up super close with not only my siblings but also my eight cousins. All twelve of us are within 9 years of each other in age which made for an energetic and action-packed childhood. Spending so much time with this family early on in my life shaped not only my personality but also my hobbies and interests. As a group, we played sports like soccer, basketball, golf, and tennis, and also just spent lots of time exploring the landscapes of Vermont. At Pingree, I play soccer, basketball, and varsity tennis, and golf is more of a weekend hobby. I am a big fan of the Patriots and have started watching the Boston Celtics dynasty rise as I start to play more basketball myself. My interest in basketball has peaked in the past two years because I set the goal of dunking once I realized I could already jump pretty high. This is an ambitious task because I am 5'9 & 1/2, meaning that I need a 36-inch vertical to succeed. For context, the average NBA player only has a ~28-inch vertical. Right now I am at 34 inches. My favorite part about this journey is that training to maximize your vertical jump is training to maximize your overall health. To jump ridiculously high, you need to be very strong, but it is just as important to be extremely mobile and have no weak links in your tendons and joints as well. Therefore, the vision of dunking not only motivates me to improve my athleticism every day but also keeps my body in top physical health and top mental health by extension. Besides obsessing over vertical jump training, some of my other hobbies include playing the guitar, producing music with my brother, and bird photography, all of which you can see on this website.
